2. Onsite PPA Model
In this model, the Customer leases out rooftop space or ground space, for a 3rd party investor to build the solar power plant on. The Customer signs a PPA (power purchase agreement) with the investor, to buy the power generated at a competitive rate, which enables the investor to recover the investment over a period of time, with added benefits of depreciation.
3. Offsite PPA Model
In this model the Customer enters into a PPA (power purchase agreement) with a solar power developer, to purchase power generated elsewhere, at a competitive rate. Typically, Offsite PPA periods are for 10 years, for power consumption levels of 3MWp, and the Customer must have a favorable credit rating score.
