It is a well-known fact that the solar industry, with its falling project costs, growing competition and thinning margins, is giving a hard time to solar EPCs in the country. In order to thrive and win in this competitive landscape, solar EPCs have to differentiate themselves from the rest.

ILIOS Power is one of the few EPCs that have carved out its own niche in the Indian solar industry. It specialises in ground-mounted as well as rooftop projects for industrial power houses as well as commercial facilities. Aided by the brilliance of its IIT founders, in the seven years since its inception, ILIOS Power has grown to become a solar EPC with pan-India operations and a special focus on Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

ILIOS Power’s most recent and largest solar installation – a 12.5 MW solar power plant for Cybercity Builders and Developers, one of the most trusted realty brands in Hyderabad – is a testimony to its strong project implementation capabilities. The projects are part of the 500 MW Solar bidding in Telangana state and the PPA is with TSSPDCL (Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Corporation Limited). The 12.5 MWp comprises two projects of 6.25 MWp each in Nalgonda & Ranga Reddy districts of Telangana state.

ILIOS Power has demonstrated two of its key differentiating features by implementing this project.

  • Fast project execution – Ilios Power completed the entire 12.5 MW project for Cybercity developers in a span of just 60 days. It commissioned 6 MWp in 32 days to save the PPA from being cancelled. They went the extra mile to ensure that the project finished before the scheduled 31st Dec deadline.
  • Quality conscious while being price sensitive – The developers chose ILIOS Power as the solar EPC due to its competitive bidding rates as well as superior project execution capabilities. ILIOS Power won the bid despite competition from other prominent solar EPCs such as L&T, ABB, Juwi, Tata, Sterling & Wilson. Mr Rajender Reddy, Project Manager, Solar for Cybercity Projects had said that they carried out detailed techno-commercial evaluations of the companies and also visited many commissioned projects and studied the performance of the projects before making the decision of releasing the order to ILIOS power.

ILIOS Power offers end-to-end solutions for project developers from bidding assistance and prefeasibility studies to final project commissioning and operations & maintenance. Additionally, ILIOS Power has developed proprietary software for data acquisition and plant performance monitoring through advanced data analytics and alert systems. This helps with plant maintenance by improving plant efficiency and grid uptime.

Equipped with a top quality design team and pan-India network, ILIOS Power has executed over 60 MW of EPC projects, including some of the biggest tracker-based solar plants in Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, they have over 90 MW of solar project under O&M.

ILIOS Power’s superior project implementation capabilities, technology offerings as well as projects completed provide it sufficient thrust to compete in the solar industry. Solar Mango hopes ILIOS Power continues its journey in the solar industry with vigour and passion.

All the best to the ILIOS team!
