To celebrate India reaching the important milestone of 100 GW of installed solar power capacity, Solar Mango has put together a series of posts.
Solar power in India has grown from insignificant amounts in 2010 to 100 GW by February 2025, and in the process reaching over 20% of the total electrical capacity installed in India - an impressive feat.
But the best of solar is yet to come. The country could be home to 300 GW of solar power by 2030, about 30% of power installed capacity.
Along with greening the electricity and the subsequent, solar power is creating jobs, and also having an impact on our oil consumption by powering electric mobility and through electrification of heat.
India's solar power sector is indeed shining bright, and could shine even brighter during the next decade.
This series of posts - India @ 100 GW Solar - has been created to celebrate India's solar power sector achieving 100 GW. It tells you who and what made it happen, and what we can expect from the sector going forward.
I thank all my team members from EAI in making this series happen, and hope you find it useful and interesting
